Vintage Brooches & Pins -Figurals

This is an authentic Takahashi wooden bird pin. These little jewels were hand carved with exacting details and then expertly painting to match the colors of the real birds. Up to ten layers of lacquer were applied to give the birds shine and to protect its paint. That is why this bird's finish is so smooth and still looks perfect after many years. This bird is a male Scarlet Tanger and is a vibrant red with black and teal feathers. His feet are wired on a real twig and the pin back is attached with push pins. These are all indicators of an authentic and collectible Takahashi bird. This exact bird pin is featured prominently in Julia C. Carroll's book Collecting Costume Jewelry 303 on page 112 and on the back cover. - Unsigned, View A , B - See the back.

Handsome figural brooch of an Arabian thief with a turban and scimitar. It is possibly from the "Thief of Bagdad" which was a popular theme in the 40's.It was designed by Goldstein and Lustig under patent # 144,052. A wonderful trio of horse and buggy pins. It is so rare to find a set of three vintage pins. They look identical, just graduated in size. They are very nicely cast with a lot of intricate details. Rare Pin in an eagle shape constructed of Italian Millefiori glass on a metal backing. It is an expert glass craftsman who can form glass into the shape of an eagle. The glass canes are sliced to make flowers that decorate the red glass background. See the back.

Wonderful figural pin of an Asian Princess's head. She has a pouty face and is wearing a crown, large hoop earrings, and she has a pearl under her chin. This pin is unsigned, but was made by Selro and is from their Oriental Goddess line. Its a very collectible pin and we were thrilled to find it. An early signed Monet Christmas brooch featuring enameled blue bells adorned with red ribbons. There is a row of sparkling rhinestones on the bottom of each bell and the clappers move.
