Chinese Carved Pierced Nut Bead Antique

Chinese carved nut bead, late 19th Century. This antique bead was hand carved, hollowed and pierced with figures, trees and leaves. The figures are possibly wisemen or immortals. These types of beads are used as prayer beads by Buddhists and all are strung together on silk. It takes an expert carver to make these rare beads. There is a chip to the ring around one of the holes. It is shown in the first and last picture.
