Wooden School Brooch World War II Era

Wooden School Brooch World War II Era

$59.00

Charming School Days wood brooch from the World War II era, 1930's -40's. It features a red pencil box, and a chalk board slate dangling below a painted ruler. The wood pieces are all hand painted. The chalk slate has "1+2=3"  and "RAF - US" written on it. RAF stood for The Royal Air Force, which is the United Kingdom's aerial warfare force. A fabulous patriotic nod to the US and British forces joining together in the war effort.

With the shortage of metals during the depression and war, wood jewelry was extremely popular. There is minor paint loss, overall in very good condition. The pin back is a C-clasp and is marked PAT PEND. This is a wonderful collectors piece.

  • Size : 1¾ x 1¾ inches
