Yellow African Trade Beads Antique Venetian

A gorgeous African Trade Bead necklace composed of antique striped glass beads. The Venetian striped chevron beads are from the late 1800's. These oval tube beads have a yellow glass base with multi-colored stripes. These antique beads have the many of the stripes worn off from years of wear. They were handmade in Venice using traditional bead making techniques and later traded to Africa. The Italians are famous for making the highest quality glass beads. The beads are 5mm in diameter with a length that varies from 12-14mm. The antique trade beads are strung on traditional raffia and will need to be restrung to be worn.

There are a few dings and chips on these antique beads, which add to their beauty and story.
