Chocolate Tourmaline Round Bead Strands

Gorgeous Chocolate Brown Tourmaline in 10 and 12mm round beads. It is an opaque bead in a reddish brown color with a fibrous structure and a golden/silvery sheen. These have been nicely polished.

Tourmaline is recognized for having the widest color range of any gem and for lightly or deeply saturated hues of pink, red, yellow, brown, green, greenish blue, blue, violet, black, and multicolored. Known since antiquity in the Mediterranean region - Tourmaline was named in 1703 by Dutch traders who gave the gemstone a Sinhalese name, `Turamali` , thought to mean `stone with mixed colors`.
