Striped African Trade Beads Antique Necklace Venetian

A gorgeous African Trade Bead necklace composed of antique striped glass beads. The Venetian striped chevron beads are from the late 1800's. These oval tube beads have a white glass base with multi-colored stripes (blue green red). These antique beads were handmade in Venice using traditional bead making techniques and later traded to Africa. The Italians are famous for making the highest quality glass beads. The beads are very nicely matched and are 7mm in diameter with a length that varies from 12-14mm. The antique trade beads are strung on traditional raffia and could be worn as is or used in new creations.

There are a few dings and chips on these antique beads, which add to their beauty and story.
