Cat's Eye Diopside Pendant Sterling Silver

This is a lovely handcrafted sterling silver pendant with a Cat's Eye Diopside  gemstone cabochon.  It is bezel set in a sterling silver frame decorated with circular beads. The oval cabochon is 20 x 17mm and domed, it is a dark gray color almost black color with chatoyancy. The stone is sometimes called star diopside. It has a cat's eye effect caused by inclusions of fine, slender parallel mineral fibers in the gemstone that reflect light in a single band. Wearing cat's eye is believed to help ward off evil and acts as a talisman to protect against danger. The pendant has a large bail on the top that can easily slip on a cord, chain or necklace.
