A vintage brass compact by Kolter & Kopit. These compacts were popular accessories for women, used to hold face powder and a mirror for touch-ups on the go. This compact features a detailed, embossed design of applied leaves. It is made of brass, a metal commonly used in vintage compacts due to its durability and warm color. The compact has a fastening catch you twist to open on the side. Inside there is loose powder and rouge with the original puffs and it looks unused. There is a mirror in the lid. Kotler & Kopit was a Rhode Island-based company that produced a variety of cosmetic compacts, particularly powder and rouge compacts, during the 1930s to 1950s. Their products were known for their quality and decorative embellishments on the cases.
