Sterling Silver Marcasite Pendant Necklace

This is a gorgeous sterling silver necklace with a floral marcasite pendant.  The pendant has petals in a circular design that are covered in marcasites. This pendant is dangling on a sterling rolo chain that is 18 inches long.  

Marcasite jewelry is style type of jewelry that includes setting tiny pieces of pyrite into silver designs. During the 18^th and the 19^th centuries, marcasite jewelry entered its “Golden age” in Europe. In the Victorian Era marcasite jewelry was made famous by Queen Victoria who wore it as a substitute of the much more expensive diamond jewelry.
